Auto-txt Thatcham Category 5 Vehicle Protection & Tracking System
  • Thatcham Category 5 proactive theft detection system to help prevent key targeted car crime.
  • Innovative Bluetooth driver recognition system providing a secondary "key" for your car.
  • Satellite GPS vehicle tracking.
  • 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year monitoring by BT redcare.
  • Pan European coverage and vehicle recovery.
  • Fully accredited to the Thatcham Category 5* standard, Auto-txt is driving vehicle security into the future by integrating advanced communication and automotive technologies to fight key targeted car crime and aid the recovery of stolen vehicles.

          * Launched in September 2004, Thatcham Category 5 is approved by
The Association  of British Insurers (ABI),
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO),
National Security Inspectorate (NSI) and the
           Vehicle Systems Installation Board (VSIB).

Why Auto-txt?

What makes Auto-txt unique and different?

  • The first entirely unique lifestyle based vehicle security product. Auto-txt is founded on the highest levels of technology and delivered through one business which designs, manufactures and supplies the product.
  • A unique feature of Auto-txt is that it is the first system to utilise everyday Bluetooth-enabled customer interfaces (such as a mobile phone) to authenticate the vehicle driver, providing an enhanced level of security against the rising trend in key related car theft.
  • Using state of the art technology, Auto-txt fully supports both the Standard Operation (SO) and the Remote Operation (RO) features of Thatcham Category 5. Auto-txt has been designed to offer an increased level of security with the RO option. This allows an Auto-txt enabled vehicle to be remotely immobilised following a reported theft, thus greatly increasing the likelihood of vehicle recovery.

Product Information

Using Auto-txt - usability beyond standard trackers.

  • By combining Satellite tracking, Bluetooth, GSM and on board vehicle technologies, Auto-txt continuously monitors the vehicle’s status.
  • When turning on the ignition, the driver is authenticated via their Bluetooth device. Once authorised, the system is "disarmed" and the driver can drive the car as normal. If the authenticated Bluetooth device is not detected, an alarm will be raised, and the registered vehicle owner contacted.
  • On leaving the car, the system is automatically "armed". If any unauthorised movement or event is detected e.g. vehicle keys stolen and vehicle started, the BT redcare Secure Operating Centre (SOC) will be alerted.
  • Following close communication with the vehicle owner and police, the BT redcare SOC can track the vehicle in the UK and across 31 countries in the EU as required.
  • Where deemed necessary, a vehicle can be remotely immobilised by the BT redcare SOC under police supervision (RO feature).
