UK-Harwich: Dredging and pumping works
|
|
Harwich Channel Deepening Site Investigation.
The contract is for the provision of a suitable backhoe dredger to
excavate approximately 112 trial pits for others to take samples and
analyse. The trial pits lie within the current navigation channel and
harbour areas of the ports of Harwich and Felixstowe. Trial pits will be
approximately 500m apart and a maximum of 2,0m deep. Excavated material
will be replaced on the bed and levelled by the dredger. The contract will
include the provision of any work boat required and a suitable tug to
position the dredger. The dredger will be required to excavate to a level
of -16,5m CD and there is a maximum tide level of 4,3m. It is expected
that the work will require up to 10 consecutive days and the work must be
completed between 1.7.2013 and 30.9.2013.

UK Millennium Cohort Study Sixth Sweep.
The Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) at the Institute of Education,
University of London (UK) is seeking tenders from survey research agencies
to carry out the instrument development, data collection and initial data
processing for the sixth sweep of the UK Millennium Cohort Study (MCS).
MCS is a longitudinal study following the lives of over 19,000 children in
the UK born in 2000/1. The cohort has been surveyed on five prior
occasions: at 9 months (2001-2), 3 years (2003-4), 5 years (2006), 7 years
(2008) and 11 years (2012). The sample was originally recruited through
Child Benefit records and was designed to over-represent children living
in deprived areas, areas with high minority ethnic populations (in England
only) and areas in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
